ARE YOU OVER 50 - YOUR TIME AND SKILLS ARE NEEDED NOW Volunteers over 50
The Getting On project is based at the Volunteer Bureau in Sheffield and encourages the over 50's to volunteer their time and skills. The over 50's have got so much to contribute to a wide range of organisations across the City &endash; you can volunteer your time from one or two hours per month to regular times each week.
There are a wide range of opportunities including working with animals, children, hospitals, families, refugees, women's groups, environmental work and the list goes on. You can be involved in a wide range of ways such as caring, community work, driving, legal work, befriending, fundraising, DIY, retail and charity shops, counselling, administration etc.
You will receive training and support, have your expenses paid for as well as the chance to learn new skills and meet new people. Volunteering is a great way to have fun and feel valued and needed.
People over 50's are loyal and much needed volunteers because of the maturity, experience, knowledge and skills you can bring. You can give as little or as much time as you can to helping a wide range of groups.
